Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune condition that causes the rapid buildup of skin cells. According to a study mentioned in ‘healthline’ , 7.4 million Americans have psoriasis. It is commonly associated with several other conditions, including:
- type 2 diabetes
- inflammatory bowel disease
- heart disease
- psoriatic arthritis
- anxiety
- depression
Among Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) many mechanisms of action, the single most important function is the decrease of inflammation by stimulating the body’s own anti-inflammatory defenses. The following studies, papers and reviews are provided to assist in understanding how HBOT is effective for treating auto immune conditions such as Psoriasis.
